Flat Repair — When a Tire Can Be Saved
A puncture is repairable when it sits in the tread area, measures under a quarter inch, and the tire has not been driven flat. We repair it the way tire makers specify: the tire comes off the wheel, gets inspected from the inside, and takes a combination patch-plug — not a rope plug pushed in from outside in a parking lot. That repair seals the injury and restores the tire to full service, including highway speeds.
We will tell you no — and why — when the damage is in the sidewall or shoulder, the hole is too large, the cords show, or the tread is below 2/32". A tire that has run flat even briefly usually has a destroyed inner liner; it looks fine outside and fails at speed. Those tires get replaced, not patched.
New Tires, Mounted and Balanced
Bring your own tires — ordered online or bought elsewhere — and we mount and balance them the same visit. Need rubber? Tell us the size on the sidewall and we quote options from local distributors, usually available within a day. Every mount ends on the balancer: weights set, bead seated, torqued to spec with a torque wrench, not an impact gun left to guess.
Balancing and Rotation
A steering wheel that shimmies at 60 mph is usually one of two things: wheel weights that have shifted, or a bent rim. Balancing answers the question in minutes — if the vibration survives fresh balancing, the wheel itself is bent, and that is a wheel & rim repair job in the same building. Rotation every 5,000–7,000 miles keeps wear even and doubles as a free look at brakes and suspension while the wheels are off.

Low-profile, run-flat and oversized tires take more careful mounting and sit at the top of the ranges. TPMS sensors are handled whenever a tire comes off — inspected, reused if healthy, relearned before delivery.
Pothole Season Is a Package Deal

Can you repair my flat tire while I wait?
Usually yes. A repairable puncture — in the tread, under a quarter inch — takes about 30–45 minutes: the tire comes off, gets inspected from the inside and takes a proper patch-plug, then the wheel is rebalanced and torqued to spec. No appointment needed; we are open seven days at 18-24 Bayview Ave in Jersey City.
When is a tire not repairable?
When the puncture is in the sidewall or shoulder, larger than a quarter inch, the cords are visible, the tread is below 2/32", or the tire has been driven flat — even briefly. A run-flat that ran with no pressure is usually done too. We show you the damage on the dismounted tire before recommending a replacement.
Do you sell new tires?
We source new tires through local distributors — tell us the size on your sidewall and we quote options, usually available within a day. You are also welcome to bring tires bought online or elsewhere: we mount, balance and set TPMS the same visit.
The steering wheel shakes at highway speed — balancing or a bent rim?
Balancing answers that in minutes. If fresh balancing cures the shake, it was the weights. If the vibration survives, the rim behind the tire is bent — and since our wheel repair shop is in the same building, straightening happens without a second trip.
Is pothole damage covered by insurance?
It can be. A pothole hit that destroys a tire alone is usually below the deductible, but when the same impact bends the rim and damages suspension, a collision claim often makes sense. We put the whole picture in one estimate and handle the claim paperwork if it is worth filing.
